The Start of a New Year!

I’m making lists and checking them twice! No, this is not a late Christmas entry, it’s a New Year entry.

I have taken down my Christmas decor and I’m ready for the best year ever. Who is with me!?! I’ve been making lists of what I want to accomplish this year- increase my savings account, open an IRA, organize every closet in my house, clean and organize my garage, continue going to the gym, open another savings account just for a Disney vacation in 2019…..oh and buy JT concert tickets in a week!

I also have a short term goal list- get an oil change for my car, do my laundry, give Ellie Mae a bath.

If anyone knows me, they know I love making lists. I think it helps clear my head from the millions of thoughts that run through it. The lists help me organize my own thoughts. I promise I just updated my lists as of now- my mind runs all day and never rests. This time of year I get very excited as to what is coming next in my life: maybe I’ll buy a house, pay off all credit cards, or maybe find the love of my life. I’m not sure but I’m certainly open to the ideas. 2018 is going to be the year that I let myself and my mind be open to possibilities. I think I close myself off too much and I’ve missed out on so much life lately. I try to control every situation to protect myself…. by keeping myself in a safe bubble, I’m not living. I’m staying stagnant and life is passing me by.

I do have some exciting news!!! Drum roll!

I’m starting off the new year a size smaller! All my hard work is definitely paying off. Healthy eating and staying active is keeping my body healthy but also helping me look the best!

Excuse the exercise shirt and the dressing room pictures! I was too excited not to share. I haven’t been this size in a really long time…. maybe college days, over ten years ago.

I also have made a list of possible new work avenues: yoga instructor, life coach, personal trainer. I love being active and helping people do so. I think a combination of these careers would be perfect for me with a little bit of Occupational Therapy on the side 🙂

This has been a long time coming but I feel happy and at peace with myself which is such a great feeling. This has happened due multiple things: good exercise plan, meditation, medication, yoga, good friends, supportive family, and a handful of self help books….. okay maybe two handfuls! The end result is me as I am today, which will only get better each day!
